Set in Stone

Today my hubby and T poured some concrete and framed up a wall. Again we used lunch as an excuse to go be nosey and take pictures.

This square of concrete filled in where the water heater used to sit. That square was part of the garage. It will now be part of the new family room.

This doorway will be gone. It will be a solid wall separating the family room from one of the girl's bedrooms. It will still be a garage when we move in, but eventually we will make the bedroom conversion.

This line of concrete levels out the floor where they took a wall down. It was the wall that separated the main house from the sun room. In the new configuration there will be no separation, but it would define the line between the family room and the kitchen.

Being the awesome Dad that Donnie is, he let the girls write their names in concrete. He made a line that he didn't want the girls to cross, but of course Q took that as her cue to cross boundaries.

Both girls thought it was awesome that they left their permanent mark on the place.
