Today was BFB installation day. BFB stands for big flipping beam. When ever we're looking at houses and talking about walls we are going to tear down, we say, "that's going to need a BFB!". We crack ourselves up.
This room is the family room. It will be tucked between the backside of the fireplace and the hallway that leads back to the girls' rooms. The beam is required because we took down the wall that used to separate the dining room and old pantry.
That framing you see in front is temporary. They put that their to hold up the roof while they install the beam.
You can see the beam at the top of the pic. It's wood and about 12 inches wide. Fascinating!
The reason we were over at the house today is because we were delivering lunch. While Donnie was on his lunch break he decided to fix the old wagon in the garage. It was missing a nut.
The wagon entertained the girls for an additional 20 minutes. That time allowed us to measure out where the pantry is going to stop and where the laundry room is going to start.
This is the bathroom tile I mentioned in my previous post. It's stacked neatly in the garage just waiting to be installed. I hope it's patient.
I will end this post by grossing you out. We found something disgusting in the master bedroom today. Rat droppings! Blech! Apparently rats are an issue when you live on the river. Hmmm. I wonder why that wasn't in the real estate listing? I am having flashbacks of the house Jen, Denice, and I shared in college. Now all we need is Scott the pest control guy!
Lets hope you dont trap that rat behind your fridge and it eats a hole in the floor board to find its way out! I also hope its not the size of a cat like Scott said ours was!!! :) GOOD TIMES
